Dr. Carlos Kuhlmann - Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Enschede / Netherlands

Dr. Carlos Kuhlmann studied chemistry at Saxion University of Applied Sciences (BASc) and molecular sciences at the University of Groningen (MSC). During his PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Cologne, he specialised in the field of flexible organic electronics. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Saxion research group Sustainable & Functional Textiles where he coordinates the applied research projects on functional and smart textiles. In these application and user-oriented projects, either prototypes are designed and manufactured or textile technologies are further developed together with industrial partners and other research institutions. He is also a senior lecturer in the bachelor's and master's degree programmes Fashion and Textile Technologies and Innovative Textile Development, where he teaches about textile chemistry, textile finishing and smart textiles.
