Dr. Apurba Ray
Research Scientist

Dr. Apurba Ray is currently employed as a Research Scientist at the Dept. of High-Temperature and Functional Coatings, Institute of Materials Research of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne and working on a DLR-Space Directory granted project related to manufacturing and testing of Supercapacitors for Satellite applications. Dr. Ray received his PhD from Jadavpur University, India in 2019 in the field of high-performance Supercapacitors and after that he finished his Post-doctoral research as a DLR-DAAD Research Fellow in Germany. His research interest is focused on fabrication of advanced, cost effective, ecofriendly, flexible high-performance cells for electrochemical energy storage systems, especially large-scale Supercapacitors and Batteries using advanced electrode and electrolyte materials to be applied in the industrial, aerospace, domestic, electronic and mobile equipment and devices. Up to date, he has published 40 research papers, 3 book chapters and 9 conference papers in different International Journals.
